Privacy Policy

Rankfile is an iPhone app that reads chess diagrams from photos and PDF files.

What Rankfile does with your data

• Photos and PDFs you choose are processed on your device to locate and read chess diagrams. They are never uploaded anywhere.
• Saved positions and imported books are stored only on your device (and in your own device backups, if you use iCloud or computer backups). Deleting them in the app removes them.
• Camera access is used only while you take a photo of a diagram. Photos taken inside Rankfile are not written to your photo library.

What Rankfile does not do

• Rankfile does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data.
• Rankfile has no accounts, analytics, advertising or third-party SDKs.
• Rankfile makes no network requests of its own.

Lichess link

“Analyse on Lichess” opens the position on lichess.org in your browser. From that point Lichess’s own privacy policy applies. The position (FEN) is part of the URL; nothing else is sent.
